9 Month Check Up

Addison and Caroline had their 9 month check up on yesterday. They still continue to be small but the Dr is not concerned since they are gaining some weight, don't get sick very often and are good eaters. Oh well. They are just going to be small and that is just fine.

Here are their Stats:

Addison
Weight: 13 pounds, 7 ounces (under 5th percentile)
Length: 26.5 inches (10th percentile)

Caroline
Weight: 15 pounds, 3 ounces (under 5th percentile)
Length: 26.5 inches (10th percentile)

Miss Ellie Bassett was baptised last Sunday.  She was very talkative and cute.  Her Grandma made this cute dress and can you see the gold cross necklace she is wearing?  Adorable.

Buddies

Just about every time the girls wake up from a nap or in the morning we find them sitting and facing each other in their cribs.  Before I even come into the room I can hear them giggling and having fun with each other.  They are so cute :)

I have been getting some projects done around our place lately and here I am measuring the hem for some curtains.  Caroline and Addison are "helping."

And now that they are crawling they have discovered the kitchen.  I love washing dishes or something and looking down to see them coming around the corner.  Here they are "helping" load the dishwasher.

The girls had a good time entertaining their friend Ainsley.  I think they are checking her out here to make sure she is ok.

They approve!  I should note that Ainsley is 10 weeks old and she wears some 3 month old clothing.  Addison and Caroline are 41 weeks old and mainly wear 3 month clothing.  Hmmmm......

Here is Addison who got to the standing position for the first time!

Bears, Botanic Gardens and Boogers, Oh My!

This week has had an interesting combo of fun and sickness. It started with Scott and I going to the Chicago Bears season opener. It was fun as always. There is just something about that first game. It is full of optimism and anticipation for the season to come. Everyone is generally is high spirits and a win is always nice too!

Addison and Caroline were showing their support too.  Thanks for Mor Mor and Popper for babysitting!

Yesterday the girls and I went to the Botanical Gardens with my Grandma, Linnea, Gwen, Sonja and Elsa.  It was a perfect day to go.  Not so perfect for Addison as she wanted me to hold her the whole time.  Thanks for your help Elsa!

Happy Caroline having fun with the best baby toy ever...an empty plastic bottle

And now what has been going on today...lots of booger sucking.  Caroline has been less than still when changing her diaper and that has been extended to trying to clear her nose.  Here I am trying to get them out....

This is right after booger sucking...happy as a clam in her johnny jump up.  She finally got the hang of it today and has been jumping like crazy.

Here is what else has been going on this week.  You will notice that the pictures are all of Caroline.  That is because Addison has been sick.  It started out with a high temp all day Monday and Tuesday.  She was pretty normal other than wanting to sleep and snuggle more.  She has not had a temp. since Tuesday but she has wanted to snuggle or be held for the rest of the week so she may still not be feeling well.  Caroline started having a stuffed nose last night and it has continued into today.  Other than our battles with clearing her nose out she has been pretty happy camper.  She has also been great this whole week with being content more on her own since I have had to direct more of my attention towards Addison.  I hope they both feel better soon!

Caroline got herself into this position somehow.  This is the first time I have seen her get on her feet and stayed there for a while with the support of her toys.  Love her expression!

She has not fully pulled herself up onto anything yet but it is not for the lack of trying

After a nap

This is something that Addison started doing first but now Caroline does it too and more often.  After she eats a bite she will crinkle up her nose and breath quickly.  It is definitely cuter in person.

End of Summer

This past August was my Grandpa's 90th birthday!!! My mom, Gwen, Sonja, Me, Scott and our girls headed over there the night before we celebrated to hang out and get ready for the next day full of fun. Here we are having dinner in my Grandpa's backyard.  Gwen and Sonja were helping out....kind of

Cousin time with Gwen and Caroline

After church the next day we went to Stockholm Inn for lunch.  Of course we had to pose for pictures with the dala horse.

It was a great day celebrating my Grandpa.  Happy 90th!!!!!

Swing time at Linnea and Cam's

Another weekend, another wedding!  Scott was a groomsman in this one and it was the last one of the year.  Congrats Nick and Jen!

Y-U-M-M-Y

Lunch at Chipolte's after church.  It is a common occurrence for one or both of them to eventually start eating the table when we are out for a meal.

I have rediscovered my love for Super Mario World.

We are training them for Mariocart!  Addison (on the left) is not so sure about it.

The girls are getting better at standing while holding on to something on their own.  Part of the reason we chose our exersaucer is that it turns into this standing play area that helps them practice while playing.  It has been great so far.

This is what we now find after naps or when they should be napping.  They can now both get themselves in a sitting position.  So we lowered the cribs since they can pull themselves up onto their knees.  It was a big week last week...first teeth for both (3 days apart), crawling and cribs lowered!!

They have fun in the bath

Caroline even gives Addison backrubs now :)
