Addison and Caroline are already 4 months old! They turned 4 months on 4/8/10 and yesterday we had their check-up. Here are their numbers:
Addison...
Weight - 9 pounds, 11 ounces (below 5th percentile)
Length - 22 inches (below 5th percentile)
Head Circumference - 38.5 inches (above 95th percentile)
Caroline...
Weight - 10 pounds, 11 ounces (below 5th percentile)
Length - 23 inches (between 5th and 10th percentile)
Head Circumference - 39 inches (above 95th percentile)
They continue to have a one pound difference between them and Addison is technically not even on the chart in her weight. So this next month we will be mixing her milk with formula so that she gains more weight. You would think that with such opposite ends of the spectrum between their weights/length versus their head circumference that they would look like they had huge heads but they don't. What can I say, they must have big brains :)
At 4 months, Addison is rolling from her stomach to her back, cooing and ooing like crazy, smiling all the time and continues to do the fake cough thing. She is learning how to reach for toys and can grasp them pretty well when placed on her tummy.
At 4 months, Caroline enjoys making high pitched screeching noises to let us know she is there and happy. She is also cooing, ooing and smiling like crazy and also continues to make her fake cough noise. She finds it funny when you imitate her. She also continues to learn how to reach for toys and will also grasp them when you put them on her tummy of close by.
They both can sit with support and keep their head up straight. Both of them enjoy being held facing out so they can look around and soak in their surroundings.
A week ago we eliminated the final feeding at night so the girls are both now in bed from 7pm to 7am. A welcomed change for Scott and I. We are truly lucky and blessed to have such great sleepers! During the day they have a grown up schedule with breakfast, lunch and dinner with a few other feedings in between. They mostly have milk still but we started solids today and are excited about this new phase. They both did great!
Addison can hold her head up really high when on her tummy
I love when they put their arms/hand on the side of their bumbo chairs. It makes them look grown up to me.
These girls are truly a joy and a blessing!
